Farmer: Joe Carr + Family
Food Produced: Cabbage, kale, okra, summer squash, peppers, and onions
After raising cattle in his early years in farming, Joe developed an interest in gardening and went on to later co-found the Fort Smith Farmers’ Market. Operating out of Booneville, Joe and his wife, Vilma, and two sons, Cordell and Jordan are living proof that it takes a supportive family to be successful in small-scale agriculture. The Carrs are actively pursuing transitioning to organic with the help of the CSA technical assistants.
