28 Dec Winter Production Workshop at Heifer Ranch
New South Produce Cooperative is gearing up for a weekend of workshopping at Heifer Ranch in Perryville, Arkansas.
Join us for a free on-the-farm workshop hosted by Heifer USA horticulture expert, Sean Pessarra, January 18, 2019, to learn more about keeping your farm’s production growing through the winter season. Topics covered will include overwintering crops, storage crops, protected culture growing techniques, and hand tools in the garden. There will be time for hands on demonstrations with garden tools and equipment.
Workshop participants are encouraged to arrive by 2:30 p.m. The workshop will begin at 3:00 p.m. and will include walk-throughs of the Heifer Ranch greenhouse, high-tunnels, caterpillar tunnels, storage areas and packing shed, and some brief indoor instructions. The program will conclude by 5:30 p.m.
This workshop is free and open to the public; however, space is limited. Register to reserve your spot today! Registration will close Wednesday Jan. 16th.
Immediately following the workshop, New South is hosting a Local Food for Local Farmers dinner for guests of this workshop and our Co-op members and staff to kick off our All Growers Gathering Weekend! Please let us know if we should prepare a plate for you when you register for the workshop.
